STACKING CRATES
Details:This crate is the base component for the Modular Live Bird Crate and the Live Bird Crate with Hatch. We have several clients that utilise this base due to its free draining low side walls and strong base.
They have been used in the aquaculture industry for processing half shelled mussels and oysters and also in the food processing industry for handling free flow products through the freezing process to produce IQF portions. These are mainly seafood, poultry, and meat based products so that the freshness is sealed in for further processing or for retail sale.
As these crates are modular, the height of the crates is governed by the user. There are Spacer Rings that can be affixed to the base by way of plastic rivets. Each spacer ring is 150mm in height, so in theory, a crate of 600mm in height can be assembled using 1 x Base and 3 x Spacer Rings.
The Modular Live Bird Crate is a Base with 1 x Spacer Ring added. The Live Bird Crate with Hatch is the same base but an enclosed top with a hatch is used to seal in the birds so that crates can be used independently without steel modules. For larger birds, i.e. turkeys, a Spacer Ring is generally placed inbetween the Base and the top to provide a Turkey Crate measuring 455mm in height.
