STACKING CRATES
Details:These are similar to the Live Bird Crate with Hatch (IH954) with the difference that the crate does not have a top or hatch.
The Modular Crates are generally used in steel forkliftable pallet cages (modules) as "drawers" that slide in and out with the module forming the top, and closure of the crate.
The most common usage of these crates is by poultry processors to transport birds from the poultry sheds through to the processing site.
As the crates is made up of two components, being a base and a spacer held together with a series of plastic rivets, these crates can be easily and cost effectively maintained and kept in service.
The seafood industry uses the base component for handling shellfish such as oysters and scallops as the base allows for quick and efficient drainage, and allows sediment to wash away from the shells.
